17 Mile Drive – California

Before going to the 17 Mile Drive we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium, which is the nation’s no. 1 aquarium. It has a 28-foot aquarium with a lot of exhibits. My favorites were the jelly fish and the sea horses.

17 Mile Drive – California

From Monterey we took the 17 mile drive, a very scenic drive through Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach on the Monterey Peninsula. The area is full of huge mansions; apparently this is the place where the rich go to retire. It was an amazing experience; we drove by some beautiful and unique views. This drive can easily take the entire day if you enjoy exploring new places and taking pictures, and trust me even if you don’t like doing that you will feel like it as the views are just stunning.

My favorite parts of this drive were:

– The sea lions on the rock, which was completely covered by sea lions, we could hear them bark from very far away.

– Half way there is a place full of squirrels, they will come very close to you looking for food. I didn’t have anything with me but I tricked them with rocks, it was quite funny.

– The Lone Cypress Tree which is a symbol of the whole region. The tree is 250 years old and images of it are protected, and whoever uses it for commercial purposes can be prosecuted.
